I'm Tim Antchoutine, an engineer in New York. By day I build and operate payments platforms in fintech — the kind of work where money moves, auditors ask questions, and "it works on my machine" is not a deployment strategy. That environment taught me the habits that show up in everything on this site: write the runbook, gate the merge, watch the costs, and never let a system's real state drift from what the docs claim.

Nights and weekends, I build tools for people like me — developers and solo founders who want capable software without handing their data to a third party. That conviction has a name here: self-hosted first. The finance app doesn't require bank logins. The security digest runs in your AWS account, and your findings never leave it. The kits deploy into infrastructure you own.

Dogfood is the quality bar

Nothing ships from here that I don't personally depend on. AntFolio tracks my household's actual bills and budget. AntWatch scores my real AWS account every day at noon — its first digests caught my own missing MFA and stale access keys, which is exactly the humbling a security product should deliver to its author. The agent-fleet playbook is the operating model my own repositories run under, incident scars included.

The over-engineered home network is a feature

At home there's a UniFi network with segmented VLANs, a decision log, architecture decision records, purchase gates, and runbooks — for a household. I maintain it that way on purpose: it's where enterprise discipline gets practiced without enterprise stakes, and half the writing here starts as one of its documents. A homelab that can't explain itself six months later isn't infrastructure, it's clutter.
